This striking image (the reference photo was by Javier De Lucar) caught my eye as a possible pastel artwork. The concentration on what his rider is asking of him, and the controlled power evident in his body language has come through, I like to think, in my interpretation. I have used soft pastels for the background and a variety of pastel pencils to capture the detail. This artwork took about 30 hours to create, the average for my style of art - «attention to detail» is my forte.
