This painting is an experimental project by the artist Chris Barklem, a professional artist based in Barcelona, Spain. It is named “Igneus” as the artist took his inspiration from the turmoil of global warming. This project was the precursor to the Igneus series based on the same theme.
The artist used several layers of high-quality gesso (to give flexibility), aggregate (fine sands for Mediterranean beaches), and several layers and surface techniques to produce deep contours. Several painting techniques were used in layers, to give profound depth and surreal expressionism. The highest quality canvas on a professionally crafted stretcher to be hung at the owner's discretion. The artist used professional acrylics and mediums and varnishes. This painting is sold with a certificate of authenticity hand-signed by the artist.
