Lorca Jones was raised in Flanders, Belgium. As a youngster he was fascinated already by solitude, cartoons and books and art. Lorca Jones has studied philosophy at the free university of Brussels, from a young age he was touched by the works of Leonard Cohen. Art is within the perception of Lorca Jones not something «artificial». It's a consequence from a life within solitude, it helps us to become better persons and to cultivate love. Each painting or photographical work or each text is nothing more than a contemplation or a dream or an exercise. Beside Nietzsche, Lorca Jones was most influenced by the work of Hildegard von Bingen and the work of Tupac Shakur. The most important thing in life is to stay focussed -as the Zen Buddhists say: the goal of meditation is awakening. Art awakens us when it's beautiful and purified. Each painting of Lorca Jones has been tested by the universe itself … . «These are not my paintings, they have been made by God. » -Lorca says.
